A lifelong traveler and sixth-generation Oregonian, Madeline calls Joseph her soul home, and the Kokanee Inn her first solo enterprise. After years of connecting with former owners, Eric and Missy, about hospitality and the outdoors, Madeline was honored to have the opportunity to purchase the inn in early 2024. She delights in meeting guests from all over the world, experimenting with different forms of French Toast Casserole, and wrangling Canine Luxury Consultants, Scout & Cipher, both on and off the trail. Eric Makela and Missy Britt, the founders of the Kokanee Inn, opened the doors of the Inn in 2019 after an exhaustive remodel to guests from all over the world. With backgrounds in energy efficiency and sustainability, Eric and Missy strove to create a lodging experience that was both good for guests and the environment.

Eric is an avid cyclist who is a great resource for any questions you may have about cycling around the region. Missy loves all sorts of trails, whether for hiking, running, or snowshoeing, and is happy to help provide suggestions for hitting the trails in Wallowa County.
